but not simple. Machover writes, sounds like modern life, with glimpses of equilibrium that feel straightforward and well-earned, but hopefully not simplistic. It is a soundtrack for the way we live now, at once a source of hope and of warning. This collection of Tod Machover’s music focuses on chamber and orchestral music composed during the last decade, both with and without electronic enhancement. Machover's music is a fascinating blend of expressive and lyrical melody combined with a sophisticated ear for textural complexity. The resulting music is always a treat for the ears-colorful, vibrant, and rhythmically propulsive. Kickstarter Interview with Tod Machover.
is a longer work that is by turns playful, expressive (especially the wonderful first violin), and sunny in character. The music is always moving, and the iO Quartet is so spot-on with their timing and technique that there are no flubbed notes

Tod Machover (b. 1953 in New York) has been called "America's most wired composer" by the Los Angeles Times. He is widely recognized as one of the most significant and innovative composers of his generation, and is also celebrated for inventing new technology for music, including Hyperinstruments which he launched in 1986.
MIT futurologist Tod Machover rethinks traditional instruments, coming up with new things like the hyperpiano; Pianist Michael Chertock gives it a go in an explosive excerpt below. And the piano itself, once considered a hi-tech invention, wasn't yet on the market when Handel published his keyboard suites. Lisa Smirnova makes a strong case for Handel's terrific harpsichord music using a modern Steinway. And then there's the original instrument - the human voice
