Gather 'Round is similar to Tennessee Ernie Ford's 1955 album, This Lusty Land!, in that both contain mostly traditional songs. Unlike its predecessor, Gather 'Round is not arranged strictly as a pop album and offers a greater variety of moods. The Delmore Brothers' "Brown's Ferry Blues" is unwittingly transformed into a vocal jazz piece, and "Black Is the Color of My True Love's Hair" is slowed down to dirge speed and performed by Ford in the lower reaches of his vocal range. Album Sweet Hour of Prayer. Shall We Gather At The River Lyrics. 1. Shall we gather at the river Where bright angel feet have trod With its crystal tide forever Flowing by the throne of God? Refrain: Yes, we'll gather at the river The beautiful, the beautiful river; Gather with the saints at the river That flows by the throne of God. 2. On the margin of the river Washing up its silver spray We will walk and worship ever All the happy golden day (Refrain)
