Night Moves" is a song by American singer-songwriter Bob Seger. Seger wrote the song as a coming of age tale about adolescent love and adult memory of it. It was based on Seger's own teenage love affair he experienced in the early 1960s. It took him six months to write and was recorded quickly at Nimbus Nine Studios in Toronto, Ontario, with producer Jack Richardson.
Produced by Jack Richardson. I was a little too tall Could've used a few pounds Tight pants points hardly renown She was a black haired beauty with big dark eyes And points all her own sitting way up high. Way up firm and high.

Lyrics to "Night Moves" song by Bob Seger: I was a little too tall Could've used a few pounds Tight pants points hardly reknown She was a black. I awoke last night to the sound of thunder How far off I sat and wondered Started humming a song from 1962 Ain't it funny how the night moves When you just don't seem to have as much to lose Strange how the night moves With autumn closing in. The lead single off of the album, it was chosen by the Rolling Stone magazine "Song Of The Year" in 1977. Bob Seger got motivated to write this song after he'd watched the film "American Graffiti" (1973).
Bob Seger recorded the bulk of Night Moves before Live Bullet brought him his first genuine success, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that it's similar in spirit to the introspective Beautiful Loser, even if it rocks harder and longer. Throughout much of the album, he's coming to grips with being on the other side of 30 and still rocking.
This song helped the Night Moves album sell more than five million copies. Seger was big in his home state of Michigan, but "Night Moves" earned him acclaim on a national level. Seger: "When people ask 'Do you know when you've written a hit?' the usual answer is no. This song was an exception It reached on the Canadian RPM Top Singles chart.
