Skam Records’ most elusive artist Bola returns with an enticing new album . the first movement from Darrell Fitton's near mythical project since his Kroungrine LP bowled us over a decade ago!!! Returning to take his 'Krouning' place at the top of his native Northern city home's list of near mythical producers, Bola continues the tradition of offering up some of the greatest electronic music the world has ever seen, yet for one reason or another chooses to remain cloaked in mystery

In stock now for same day shipping. It's been a long time between drinks for Darrell "Bola" Fitton, a long serving IDM explorer who released five fabulous albums on Skam between 1998 and 2007. D E G, his first album in a decade, is a predictably beguiling and atmospheric affair. Beginning with the sumptuously spacey ambient sweep of "Fhorth", Fitton delivers a master class in hard-to-pigeonhole electronica

by Bola released in 2017 via Skam. Or consider a donation? Track List.

After nearly a ten year hiatus, Darrel Fitten returns with his new Bola album, titled . The all-encompassing environment of Bola is manifested in the very first track when after a short introduction of ambient entrance mixed with some deep throat-singing phrases the piece shifts down to a frequency-rich sweeping atmosphere of tonalities, colors, and shades. Sprinkled with a gentle hue of jazzy elements and keys, the music traverses territories of percussion-defining genres, be that downtempo, electro, or glitch-edgy breaks.

very good.. better than soup which is saying a lot, but it is also the most similar release to that one as someon else mentioned
The intro track is magnificent. Then returns... where it ended with Soup from 1998... which is not bad, because it's very good album. Thank you for comeback, Bola! Musically very good album, invention is rather low.One thing that bother me with this very good album... it's typical child of loudness war mastering and that is shame with electronic music of this high quality. Almost every song is trapped in noise spasm like canned sardines, music can't breath as freely as it deserves, color of individual sound is suppressed, bass doesn't have contures and mostly consists of plain hum, highs can be scratchy at times. I know, it's electronics, not jazz. But little bit of dynamic space for sound to breath would be marvelous here, electronical sounds can be so diverse and beautiful.
Another great release from Bola Aka mr fitton from skam sounds to electronic & of cause to a beautiful closing ambient electronic track doesn't get better than this congrats to the man himself 5/5
Too much hype... really - i expected more. Only the Intro Track is good!
That's your problem...having expectations...which I personally find inhibit us to enjoying more out of life...
have to agree sadly :( dont know what went wrong....
Great album from Mr. Fitton, I'm happy he's back. Vinyl has beautiful presentation and great, clean sound. No complaints, really glad I sprung for this over the CD.
Loving it, esp. Landor 50X2 - nice and spikey! Also loving the new pun (although I had to look it up! (D.E.G. (Boiled Egg)) following on from Soup (Bowl of Soup), Fyuti (Bowl of yew tea), Gnayse (Bolognaise), Kroungrine (Crown Green Bowler)
I have nothing against his rather humorous food references, but for some reason, I contemplated about whether there would be a more sinister tone on the next album, which was not likely to be released at the time, for example by naming it "E".
Darrell Fitton returns to his Bola guise after a decade of silence, and what a return it is. I haven't even listened through the album yet I'm giddy as a fox in a henhouse - this is brilliant. Highly recommended.
Wonderful stuff from mr fitton.Lush melodic electronica that bubbles away in a 90's electronica/ambient kinda way but has a relevant sound today..highly recommended too! Lovely artwork as always to round off a quality package!
