The Hutchens was an American country music trio from Sandy Ridge, North Carolina composed of brothers Barry, Bill and Bryan Hutchens. They were signed to Atlantic Records and released their debut album, Knock, Knock, in 1995.

The Hutchens' debut album Knock, Knock showcases their laid-back country-rock to a fine effect. Drawing from the Californian style of the Eagles and the Nashville tradition that Ricky Skaggs brought to the forefront in the '80s, the Hutchens combine three-part harmonies, hot bluegrass, and chicken-picking licks, with a d sense of songwriting. While their songwriting remains somewhat rudimentary, Knock, Knock is a promising debut.

Knock Knock’ is a concept album of sorts but be warned the theme presented here is one of the most depressing imaginable and can be summarised as ‘man finds love; starts new life in the country with his woman; have a number of children; at least one partner commits adultery; couple split; man hits the road again’. What stops the album from becoming wrist-slittingly bleak is Bill’s inherent quirkiness; you're never too far from an appealing turn of phrase and his vocals have that uncanny knack of retaining comforting warmth whatever the subject matter
