This album includes previously unissued mixes. These rare Coil tracks were recorded as part of the legendary Prescription label album sessions in the late 1990's that resulted in the album Astral Disaster. As we described with regards to our first Coil volume, they were invited to record at Sun Dial's studios beneath the London Bridge Hop Exchange. For various reasons, unissued material and mixes were omitted from the original Astral Disaster album. That brings us to here and now, and this LP, which provides Coil fans with their first opportunity to listen to this additional material from the Astral Disaster sessions.

when it was released amazon had CD version of this

My copy comes with the insert but the record is housed within a plain white inner sleeve, not the portrayed purple seen in the uploaded photos. Bought it via Norman records, if anyone wants to check/compare

mine also comes without it. I would say that the purple sleeve seen on the photo is actually the outer sleeve, and those on its bottom sealed copies of the same record. just plain white inner sleeve, which doesn´t appear on pictures.

Can anyone confirm this pressing is good? As this https://www.discogs.com/Coil-Astral-Disaster/release/9899866 was the worst pressing I have ever listened to.

Slight warp, but doesn’t affect play. As s-o said: not the best, but there’s lots of worse pressings.

My copy is little bit noisy. Not the worst sound quality but and not the best at all.

I am happy to report that upon my first listen of DRUG 17 I'm very happy with the sound. Little to no noise, very clean overall. I also have DRUG R8 and this pressing is clearly better. It's pretty affordable and worth the addition in my opinion

I am listening to it now. Mine is an average sound system, not a "super-duper-pearly-oyster-stylus-and-speakers", but it sounds gorgeous and I love it!

On the A-side you’ll now find swirling raga-noise meditation The Sea Priestess (Early Mix) next to a sublime, previously omitted Part 2 tract of The Mothership and the Fatherland, and a skinnier, plasmic Alternative mix of The Avatars, but we imagine the big attractions for Coil fiends will be the Instrumental mix of I Don’t Want To be the One, which was previously only found on a rare 1999 promo-only Prescription sampler, and most particularly the ghostly and invasively psychedelic 14 minutes of Cosmic Disaster, which was the original working title for Astral Disaster, and has never been released on any format.
