Various Artists, Forever Changing: The Golden Age Of Elektra Records 1963-1973. 1. Turn, Turn, Turn!, To Everything There Is a Season.

Forever Changing: The Golden Age of Elektra Records 1963-1973 - Студийный альбом от Various Artists. Вышел 23 января 2007г. В альбом вошло 117 треков. Продолжительность альбома: 06:25:47.

The joker in Forever Changing ‘s pack, disc five has no musical policy or mission statement, save that its contents are roughly chronological. Some of these bands didn’t stay at Elektra long. The Beefeaters became The Byrds, joining Columbia. The adventures, the snap decisions, the gambles and mistakes of life – Forever Changing has them all. It has music. Music that allows us to bear witness to what must have been a fabulous ride.

Forever Changing, as its name implies, presents a label that adjusted to the changing times without sacrificing its eclecticism. Fortunately, this progression from acoustic to electric doesn't determine the loosely chronological tracklist, which instead is calculated to highlight the individual songs. This is especially true on the final disc, entitled "Another Time, Another Place", which might best be described as a bonus. It combines obscure singles by popular acts or solid singles by obscure acts in a vault-clearing set that could itself be a primer on the label

Truly fantastic compilation that really distills a *feeling* of an era. Poppy, groovy, bright early '90s psychedelia-tinged UK indie/alternative. About half of the groups here could sound reasonably at home lumped into the "baggy" sound (the exceptions being Swirl, Poppy Factory, Ever, Rain, and The Clouds). This is especially an excellent record to own for anyone who DJs danceable indie of the late '80s and early '90s.
Great compilation but I was never happy with the sound quality of the LP. Picked up the CD version a couple of years back and it's much better.
